When it seems like all their luck’s run out, “Atom” finds them.

The movie is set in the “near future” of 2020 where robots pummeling each other have become more popular than humans pummeling each other. And because the movie is a mix of technology and old-fashioned boxing, the production team had to bring in some heavy hitters for assistance. Eight-foot tall robot replicas were created for the set for the actors to interact with at the urging of Executive Producer Steven Spielberg, and as for the boxing? None other than the legend himself, Sugar Ray Leonard, who choreographed the boxing moves and helped Hugh Jackman hone his skills.

The robots each have a distinctive look, personality and color scheme and range in sizes from 7′ 6 to 8′ 5 in height. Based on human form, they have two arms, two legs, a torso and a head.

My family really enjoyed watching this movie together. It was exciting, interesting, loud and heartwarming. Our favorite robot is Atom. There were some pretty cool robots like Midas and Noisy Boy, but we were rooting for Atom. My son now wants to build his own robot just like the character in the movie. My kids have asked to watch this movie two days in a row and are already playing “robots” as well.  I give this movie two thumbs up because not only were my kids entertained but my husband enjoyed the movie as well.

I love my Christmas ornaments. Each one has a story and I can tell you every one. Zazzle helped me add a new one this year with their personalized ornaments. I look forward to the Holidays all year long. I want to smell the smells and feel the cheer and happiness. I look forward to it because I know that I will be seeing my family and I will be eating all of the delicious food that we make every year. One of my favorite dishes is my grandma’s stuffing. She is from Texas and makes the best comfort food. Her cornbread stuffing is so good, I will and have eaten it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. About five years ago she taught me how to make her cranberry relish and now I am the designated cranberry relish maker

My other grandma is from England and has taught me some of my family’s favorite dishes. One of them being Sheperd’s Pie, an English household staple. It is ground meat and carrots in gravy with whipped potatoes on the top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes and it is a bit of heaven. The first time I made it for my husband he must have told me 100 times how much he liked it, and that he wanted me to make is again soon. My grandma has always made lots of veggies, carrots, brocolli, cauliflower, peas and potatoes. For Christmas she would always make Pumpkin Rolls. Thankfully she passed the recipe on to me and Pumpkin Rolls have become my speciality.

 When it comes to books made into movies, I have found that I usually like the book more than the movie. It was a toss-up this time. I read the book in four days, I couldn’t put it down. I even suggested the book to my sister and it took her the same amount of time to finish it. The movie was quite moving and put faces to these characters that had tugged at my heart strings.

The Help is set in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960′s. The main characters are Skeeter Phelan (play by Emma Stone) and Aibileen Clark (played by the wonderful Viola Davis). Skeeter goes against the beliefs of her family and friends to follow her dreams by writing a book from “The Helps” perspective. Aibileen, who secretly dreams of one day having more than she has been given, offers a deep emotional storyline. Understandably none of the maids wanted to talk to Skeeter about their roles in the white homes in which they worked. Thanks to the catty Miss Hilly Holbrook (played by Bryce Dallas Howards) another maid, Minnie Jackson (played by Octavia Spencer) agrees to be apart of the book as well. Minnie’s sass and tough exterior disguise the pain and fear she faces every day, brings both drama and humor. Jessica
Chastain brings charm and humor as Celia Foote, a kind housewife living outside of town who longs to fit in. Sissy Spacek, Allison Janney and Ahna O’Reilly also provide vivacious performances that round out this all female ensamble.
